From 3 to 8 September, the European Security and Reliability Conference (ESREL) was held at University of Southampton in United Kingdom. This is a major event in the field of reliability analysis, risk assessment and management, and optimisation of the safety performance of socio-technological systems, where experts from all over the world come together to exchange innovative ideas. GRIF participated enthusiastically, presenting two innovative research papers and running a stand.

MBSA model for assessing and analysing the availability of production from an offshore wind farm

One of the key moments of our participation in the ESREL 2023 Conference was the presentation of the paper entitled "MBSA model to evaluate and analyse the availability of the production of an offshore wind farm".

This meticulous work was carried out by our reliability experts, B. Bougoüin, M. Estécahandy, and Guillaume Clément (TotalEnergies). In this paper, we have explored new approaches to assessing and optimising the availability of offshore wind farms, thereby contributing to the advancement of renewable energy and the reduction of our environmental footprint.

Another important milestone in our presence at the conference was the presentation of the paper entitled "Study of the availability of a facility dedicated to CO2 capture, optimisation of the design and injection strategy via Petri nets".

This cutting-edge work was led by our reliability experts, C. Vinuesa (I AU CUBE), M. Estécahandy, and N. Clavé (TotalEnergies). The use of Petri nets to optimise the design and injection strategy of CO2 capture facilities opens up new prospects in the fight against climate change and the reduction of CO2 emissions.

A dynamic stand serving the RAMS community

Our stand at the ESREL 2023 Conference was a place of fruitful interaction with the participants. We were able to present our software to RAMS experts, discuss the specific needs of their projects and demonstrate how GRIF can help them optimise the reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of their complex systems.

Facilitating collaboration with universities

Our participation in the ESREL 2023 Conference was also a valuable opportunity to meet professors and students involved in the field of reliability analysis and risk management. We were able to discuss the many opportunities for collaboration that we offer to academic institutions.

The GRIF licence for academic use is free*, giving higher education institutions access to our powerful RAM tool for research and teaching projects. This offer is part of our commitment to supporting scientific training and research in universities and engineering schools.

.We would also like to remind you that we greatly appreciate your contribution and would like to thank you by offering you the opportunity to publish your article on the GRIF website. There is no charge. All you have to do is contact us.

More than 100 theses, articles and book chapters have been written using the GRIF software suite, and when are you starting yours?

The GRIF software suite team is honoured to have contributed to this conference and to be able to share our technological advances with the global reliability analysis and risk management community. We would like to thank the entire conference organising team, our developer and distributor SATODEV, our training organisation I AU CUBE,  the community of GRIF users, as well as everyone at TotalEnergies who has invested in this event and in this project, which was launched in 1982 within the company thanks to the impetus of Jean-Pierre Signoret, a world reference in the field of operational safety, and which strives on a daily basis to continue to meet market demand by keeping abreast of scientific advances in the sector.

Thank you all very much, and see you soon at ADIPEC and EPSE 2023!
